A Harvard University study revealed that caffeine inhibits the production of the ATR protein, responsible for maintaining cells damaged by UV rays. By blocking this protein, caffeine helps naturally eliminate precancerous cells, reducing the risk of aggressive skin cancers. Composition and Ingredients
COCO OIL
Tropical oil par excellence, rich in short- and medium-chain fatty acids, it has antimicrobial properties (recognized for preventing pimples) and is also lipid-replenishing.
SUNFLOWER OIL
Derived from the flower of the sun, sunflower oil is rich in OMEGA 6 essential fatty acid with anti-inflammatory propertiesand antioxidant vitamin E,it is also known for giving healthy glow to the skin.
CASTOR OIL
Rich in ricinoleic acid, effective against brown spots.Already used since antiquity, in particular by Cleopatra who used it to remove her make-up.
GREEN COFFEE OILY MACERATE
Known for its slimming and draining properties, caffeine also protects against the effects of the sun and traps free radicals.It stimulates the production of melanin, thus promoting a radiant tan. It blocks the protein responsible for cancer cells.
TOCOPHEROLS (Carotene and Vitamin E)
Powerful antioxidants, Vitamin E and carotenoids protect the skin from free radicals created by the sun and pollution. They provide an anti-aging effect by protecting collagen fibers.

Why didn't we use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in our formulas?
At COCOA SHACK®, our commitment is clear: to offer effective sun protection that respects the oceans. This is why we have chosen not to use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in our formulas. Indeed, it is not because an element is "natural" that it is not dangerous (Uranium is also "natural", just like arsenic).
As you probably already know: metals contaminate marine life (you've heard about the mercury level in tuna for example, or other heavy metals). And titanium is a metal, just like zinc.
These mineral filters actually have a worrying ecological impact: Many studies (see sources below) show that titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, in nanoparticle form or not, can accumulate in marine ecosystems, altering the photosynthesis of phytoplankton and disrupting aquatic life. These particles can also be toxic to corals, contributing to their bleaching and degradation. And their carcinogenic effects on humans are only just being discovered.
We have therefore opted for the latest generation of organic sunscreens, which are respectful of the oceans and offer optimal and invisible protection. These innovative filters are designed not to disturb marine fauna, while guaranteeing a sensory and homogeneous application.

High-end sun filter designed to counter the effects of UVA, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties, it is not an endocrine disruptor and its presence does not harm corals and marine fauna.
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine
Very safe sunscreen also high-end with broad spectrum against UVA and UVB. It is also used to stabilize other sunscreens and it does not present estrogenic activity in vitro. In addition, its presence does not harm corals and marine fauna either.
Ethylhexyl Triazone
Safe and complementary sun filter to block UVB, it has excellent hold on the skin even when wet. It does not cause irritation, as well as photosensitization reactions and is not absorbed by the skin. And of course its presence does not harm corals and marine fauna.
